BOY ‘ABUSED’ BY TUITION TEACHER

7-year-old pupil es­capes from teacher’s house af­ter or­deal

ATU­ITION teacher had al­legedly scalded her 7year-old pupil’s but­tocks with a heated wok in a bid to re­move rotan marks that were left af­ter she caned him.

Af­ter en­dur­ing the hor­rific abuse, the boy, who was left with sec­ond-de­gree burns, es­caped from the tuition teacher’s house and hid in a neigh­bour­ing home yes­ter­day.

The home­owner, who dis­cov­ered the boy, con­tacted his 24year-old sis­ter and re­lated what hap­pened.

The sis­ter, who lodged a po­lice re­port on the in­ci­dent, said she found out that her brother had been abused at the fe­male tuition teacher’s house in Ta­man Per­ling here for the past two weeks.

The po­lice re­port, lodged at 8pm last night, stated that the boy suf­fered sec­ond-de­gree burns af­ter a wok and cups — soaked in hot wa­ter — were ap­plied on his body by the teacher in a bid to re­move se­vere rotan marks.

Pic­tures of the boy’s in­juries, which were sub­mit­ted as part of the re­port, were cir­cu­lated on so­cial me­dia, to the hor­ror of Ne­ti­zens.

Jo­hor Baru Utara district po­lice chief As­sis­tant Com­mis­sioner Mohd Taib Ah­mad con­firmed the in­ci­dent, and said it was be­ing in­ves­ti­gated un­der the Child Act 2001.

He said a sus­pect had been de­tained for in­ves­ti­ga­tion.
