BOY ‘ABUSED’ BY TUITION TEACHER

7-year-old pupil escapes from teacher’s house after ordeal

ATUITION teacher had allegedly scalded her 7year-old pupil’s buttocks with a heated wok in a bid to remove rotan marks that were left after she caned him.

After enduring the horrific abuse, the boy, who was left with second-degree burns, escaped from the tuition teacher’s house and hid in a neighbouri­ng home yesterday.

The homeowner, who discovered the boy, contacted his 24year-old sister and related what happened.

The sister, who lodged a police report on the incident, said she found out that her brother had been abused at the female tuition teacher’s house in Taman Perling here for the past two weeks.

The police report, lodged at 8pm last night, stated that the boy suffered second-degree burns after a wok and cups — soaked in hot water — were applied on his body by the teacher in a bid to remove severe rotan marks.

Pictures of the boy’s injuries, which were submitted as part of the report, were circulated on social media, to the horror of Netizens.

Johor Baru Utara district police chief Assistant Commission­er Mohd Taib Ahmad confirmed the incident, and said it was being investigat­ed under the Child Act 2001.

He said a suspect had been detained for investigat­ion.
