Pushpamala said she and a few other passengers tried to retrieve Norazah but the latter was beyond their reach.

She said she had a fear of travelling in the middle of the night, hence she could not sleep throughout the journey.
“The bus driver was driving at ‘normal’ speed.
“The only stop he made was at Sungai Bakap for a five-minute toilet break. About 15 to 20 minutes later, the bus swerved left and right, before it crashed into a road divider and overturned.”
Another victim, Ooi Yi Ping, 24, was sitting behind the driver when the incident occurred.
Ooi said she was sleeping but awoke when she heard the driver shouting.
“It happened in a blink of an eye.
“The bus driver lost control of the vehicle after it swerved.
“After the collision, we escaped through a broken window, and I was rushed with the other victims to the hospital,” Ooi said.
Ooi sustained bruises on her right eye.
According to a hospital spokesman, 18 of the injured were given outpatient treatment and discharged, while another two were admitted after sustaining serious bodily injuries.
