Go down to the ground to meet constituents, leaders’ wives told

-

KUALA LUMPUR: President of the Charity and Welfare Body of Wives of Ministers and Deputy Ministers (Bakti), Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, has called on wives of the nation’s leaders to go down to the ground to meet the people in constituencies served by their husbands.

Rosmah said in preparing for the upcoming 14th General Election (GE14), it was crucial for leaders’ wives to see and hear for themselves the problems faced by the people.

“To provide appropriate assistance to the people, we must go down and meet them personally.

“And while going down to the ground, always remember to be sincere to the people,” Rosmah said in her speech at the opening of Bakti’s 40th annual general meeting (AGM) at Bangunan Bakti Siti Hasmah here yesterday.

The AGM was opened by Deputy Higher Education Minister Datuk Dr Mary Yap Kain Ching.

Rosmah called for Bakti members to strengthen the solidarity among themselves.

“I also hope that Bakti members will improve themselves and keep abreast of the latest technology, such as social media.”
