Housewife wins Mazda car in film promotion contest,
INTO its fourth week of screening, J Revolusi has reached its producers’ expectation in terms of ticket sales. Primeworks Distribution’s general manager for distribution and innovation Marini Ramlan said the film had collected RM6.8 million in ticket sales, a considerable figure, especially when it is competing with Hollywood blockbusters.
“We can collect a little more since the movie is still being screened,” she said at the grand final event for J Revolusi Watch and Win Mazda Contest at Berjaya Times Square in Kuala Lumpur recently.
Present were Primeworks Studios chief executive officer Datuk Ahmad Izham Omar and Infinitus Productions executive producer Gayatri Su-Lin Pillai.
The contest, part of the onground promotions for the movie, has a Mazda 2 Skyactiv Hatchback worth more than RM80,000 as the grand prize.
The contest, which ran from March 2 to 16, received almost 1,000 entries from J Revolusi fans, who were required to answer questions based on the movie on websites of participating partners, such as Media Prima Group, U Mobile, 7-Eleven Malaysia, SweetSpot, Kenny Rogers Roasters and B Infinite.
Ten fans made it to the finals where they took part in three rounds of fun-filled activities to determine the winner.
Vasantha Govindarajo from Pahang was announced the winner.
The 41-year-old housewife, accompanied by her husband and two daughters, received her car from Mazda senior brand equity manager Ian Khong.
The other nine finalists each received a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge smartphone.
Present were two J Revolusi stars — Zul Ariffin and Farid Kamil — who took part in the games with the contestants.
J Revolusi is co-produced by Grand Brilliance and Infinitus Productions.
“We’re grateful to fans who have been supporting J Revolusi.
“This contest is our way to show our appreciation,” said Infinitus Productions managing director T.P. Lim.
The movie also stars Izara Aishah and Nur Fazura Sharifuddin.
Marini said J Revolusi had attracted non-Malays.
“There has been a lot of discussion on J Revolusi among non-Malay Netizens who have seen it.
“This is a great indication that this movie has broken racial barriers. It’s a movie for everyone.”
