Almost there, says Khairy of target for Games sponsorship

ONLY RM10 million to go as Prudential Assurance Malaysia Berhad (PAMB) is the latest to sponsor the Kuala Lumpur Sea Games and Para Asean Games.

Classified as a silver sponsor partner, for sponsorship of between RM1mil-RM3mil, Prudential comes in as Official Insurance Partner for the Games and is to provide insurance coverage for all 13,000 volunteers.

“The total amount of sponsorship has almost reached RM70mil and our target is RM80mil.

“We are 87 per cent from said target and I feel good because obviously reaching almost 90 per cent in this economic condition is challenging,” said Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin in Putrajaya yesterday.

The deal was inked by Malaysian Organising Committee (MASOC) KL2017 CEO Datuk Seri Zolkples Embong and PAMB chief executive officer Gan Leong Hin.

Prudential is one of Asia’s leading life insurers and one of the region’s largest asset management companies.

KL2017 will be held on Aug 1931 for Sea Games and the Para Asean Games on Sept 17-23. Farah Azharie
