RUBBISH DUMPED

-

RUBBISH dumped illegally in Jalan Arumugam Pillai in Pokok Sena, Tasek Gelugor, Seberang Prai, has marred the beauty of the residential area.

Prompted by a complaint from V. Ravi Nair, Actionline checked out the area and found that the rubbish was dumped by the roadside, just beside a local council garbage bin.

Ravi, 36, said some of the culprits were the residents themselves.

“There are garbage bins around, but they still dump rubbish on the ground.

“The whole area smells bad and has attracted strays,” he said.

Another resident, M. Kavita, 41, said she saw some people throwing rubbish in the area.

However, they ignored her when she told them that it was illegal to do so.

“The local council should send undercover officers to catch the litterbugs,” she said.
