More than 300,000 books up for grabs

PU­TRA­JAYA: MPH Book­stores is call­ing book lovers to the Pu­tra­jaya In­ter­na­tional Con­ven­tion Cen­tre for the Fourth Pu­tra­jaya In­ter­na­tional Book Fair (PIBF 17).

The six-day book fair, which be­gan yes­ter­day, will end on Sun­day.

MPH Group chair­man Datuk Seri Is­mail Yu­sof said 300,000 would books avail­able at the event.

He said be­sides books, there were also sta­tionery, ed­u­ca­tional toys, life­style gifts and elec­tronic gad­gets.

“We are ex­pect­ing more than 300,000 vis­i­tors this year.

“Set in a fic­tional mag­i­cal town of books called Book­erville, the fair in­vites vis­i­tors to shop in a car­ni­val-like ex­pe­ri­ence.

“Span­ning more than 3,700 sq m of exhibition space, the fair of­fers dis­counts of up to 70 per cent on a selec­tion of lo­cal and in­ter­na­tional ti­tles, with deals as low as RM8,” he said at the open­ing of PIBF 17 here yes­ter­day.

At the event, PIBF 17 hosted the MPH Best of 2016 Book Award Cer­e­mony to hon­our in­ter­na­tional and lo­cal books that were re­leased last year.
