More than 300,000 books up for grabs

PUTRAJAYA: MPH Bookstores is calling book lovers to the Putrajaya Internatio­nal Convention Centre for the Fourth Putrajaya Internatio­nal Book Fair (PIBF 17).

The six-day book fair, which began yesterday, will end on Sunday.

MPH Group chairman Datuk Seri Ismail Yusof said 300,000 would books available at the event.

He said besides books, there were also stationery, educationa­l toys, lifestyle gifts and electronic gadgets.

“We are expecting more than 300,000 visitors this year.

“Set in a fictional magical town of books called Bookervill­e, the fair invites visitors to shop in a carnival-like experience.

“Spanning more than 3,700 sq m of exhibition space, the fair offers discounts of up to 70 per cent on a selection of local and internatio­nal titles, with deals as low as RM8,” he said at the opening of PIBF 17 here yesterday.

At the event, PIBF 17 hosted the MPH Best of 2016 Book Award Ceremony to honour internatio­nal and local books that were released last year.
