Wan Azizah: I will wait for Syura Council’s final decision

-

PETALING JAYA: PKR is ready to contest against Pas in the 14th General Election, said PKR president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail yesterday.

“If they want to contest against us, they may proceed.

“What can we do if they choose to do so?

“If the mission is to bring down the ‘kleptocratic’ government, we think that it is the only rational way between parties,” she said after attending a Pakatan Harapan presidential council meeting here yesterday.

She said this after Pa s a pproved a motion to sever ties with PKR during its 63rd muktamar in Kedah yesterday.

Dr Wan Azizah said she would wait for the Pas Syura Council to make the final decision.

Pas’s motion to cut ties with PKR is subject to approval from the Syura Council, Pas’s highest decision-making body.

Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said Pas president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang was “confused” when the latter decided against forming a partnership with PPBM.

He said Hadi was unaware of PPBM’s situation and the system that was used to run the party.

This followed Hadi’s recent statement in which he said Pas would not work with PPBM as the new party “lacked direction”.

“His assumption is baseless. We have our own party agenda, which we have discussed at the grassroots and national level.

“We have no problem with Pas’s decision.

“We have the voter’s support, which is satisfying and will bring us victory in the general election,” he said after the Pakatan Harapan presidential council meeting yesterday.
