PERODUA UNVEILS BEZZA IN MAURITIUS
Group aims to sell 2,016 units a year, targeting car rental firms, professionals and young families
KUALA LUMPUR
PERUSAHAAN Otomobil Kedua Sdn Bhd (Perodua) has launched the Bezza in Mauritius through its authorised distributor Raouf Dusmohamud & Co Ltd, making the island nation the second export destination for Malaysia’s best-selling sedan.
The Bezza variants are available in the 1.0L (automatic and manual transmission) and the 1.3L Premium X (automatic and manual transmission).
“Mauritius is a strategic destination for us as this country is one of the most popular tourist destinations, having the Bezza here would give it the global exposure that it needs,” said Perodua president and chief executive officer Datuk Aminar Rashid Salleh.
The launch was held at Raouf Dusmohamud & Co Ltd’s sales showroom in Port-Louis, the capital of Mauritius, on Saturday and hosted by the company’s managing director Raouf Dusmohamud.
The Bezza 1.0L manual transmission is priced at 562,884 Mauritian rupees (RM70,405.35) while the automatic transmission is priced at 589,268 Mauritian rupees (RM73,705.45).
The Bezza 1.3L Premium X manual transmission sells at 657,699 Mauritian rupees (RM82,264.78) while the 1.3L automatic transmission is priced at 684,990 Mauritian rupees (RM85,678.33).
“We aim to sell on average 168 units of the Bezza per month (2,016 units a year), targeting car rental businesses, city taxis, young professionals and those with young families.
“The Bezza is an exceptional car as it is fuel-efficient, has low cost of ownership, spacious, well designed and well made. We believe this model will be well accepted here,” said Dusmohamud.
Perodua now distributes three Perodua models, namely the Axia, Alza and Bezza.
Raouf Dusmohamud was appointed as Perodua’s authorised distributor in 1996 and has sold more than 2,000 Perodua vehicles. The Viva is its best-selling model, with 711 units sold between 2008 and 2014.
