STORM Taek­wondo Club re­gained their sta­tus as over­all cham­pi­ons, de­thron­ing 2016 win­ners RSB Perak, in the Nes­tle Koko Krunch Ju­nior Taek­wondo Cham­pi­onship — North­ern Re­gion at the De­wan Mil­le­nium in Kepala Batas re­cently .

Storm col­lected seven gold, three sil­ver and six bronze with RSB a close sec­ond with six gold, four sil­ver and two bronze in the cham­pi­onship which saw 542 ex­po­nents from 18 clubs from Perlis, Kedah, Perak and Pe­nang do­ing bat­tle.

Storm emerged over­all win­ners in the boys’ cat­e­gories as well with four gold, one sil­ver and four bronze. Their girls emerged sec­ond in the girls cat­e­gory with three gold, two sil­ver and two bronze.

Ipoh-based RSB were the girls’ over­all win­ners with four gold, three sil­ver and three bronze. KMTA Club were third with two gold and two bronze.

The medal­lists from the four re­gional cham­pi­onships will con­verge in Kuala Lumpur for the Grand Fi­nal to­mor­row. K. Kandiah
