LVC spike away with PD Beach Fest title
LUFFY Volleyball Club (LVC) came out tops at the Port Dickson Beach Fest Beach Volleyball Tournament at the recent Pantai Cahaya Negeri in Port Dickson.
The LVC men fought off a strong challenge from Ex Bukit Jalil (XBJ) in the final to win 21-15, 16-21, 15-12.
In the third placing match, IServe Technology (IST) defeated Malaysian Armed Forces ‘A’ (ATMA) 21-18, 21-14.
In the semi-finals, LVC overcame IST 21-16, 21-16 and XBJ overwhelmed ATMA 21-10, 21-14.
LVC were represented by Raja Nazmi Saifuddin Raja Hussin, who donned Malaysian colours at the 2014 Asian Games, and Muhammad Hussainy Naim Mohd Diah. Hamzah Mohd Ali and Mohd Razif Mahadi played for XBJ.
The tournament was organised by the Negri Sembilan Tourism Board (LPNS) and PD Travel & Tours Sdn Bhd, with 16 teams competing.
The top pair received RM3,000, the runners-up RM2,000, third place RM1,000 and fourth place RM500 as well as RM200 each for the fifth to eighth placed pairs. S. Solomon Samuel
