LVC spike away with PD Beach Fest ti­tle

LUFFY Vol­ley­ball Club (LVC) came out tops at the Port Dick­son Beach Fest Beach Vol­ley­ball Tour­na­ment at the re­cent Pan­tai Ca­haya Negeri in Port Dick­son.

The LVC men fought off a strong chal­lenge from Ex Bukit Jalil (XBJ) in the fi­nal to win 21-15, 16-21, 15-12.

In the third plac­ing match, IServe Tech­nol­ogy (IST) de­feated Malaysian Armed Forces ‘A’ (ATMA) 21-18, 21-14.

In the semi-fi­nals, LVC over­came IST 21-16, 21-16 and XBJ over­whelmed ATMA 21-10, 21-14.

LVC were rep­re­sented by Raja Nazmi Sai­fud­din Raja Hussin, who donned Malaysian colours at the 2014 Asian Games, and Muham­mad Hus­sainy Naim Mohd Diah. Hamzah Mohd Ali and Mohd Razif Ma­hadi played for XBJ.

The tour­na­ment was or­gan­ised by the Ne­gri Sem­bi­lan Tourism Board (LPNS) and PD Travel & Tours Sdn Bhd, with 16 teams com­pet­ing.

The top pair re­ceived RM3,000, the run­ners-up RM2,000, third place RM1,000 and fourth place RM500 as well as RM200 each for the fifth to eighth placed pairs. S. Solomon Sa­muel
