‘SIMETRISITI’ IS FULL OF GRATITUDE
Datuk Siti Nurhaliza’s latest album proves to be a hit among fans, writes
DATUK Siti Nurhaliza isn’t called Malaysia’s No. 1 singer for nothing. A special edition of her latest studio album SimetriSiti was sold out within 20 minutes.
Some 300 copies were opened for a pre-booked sale exclusively via online shopping portal Lazada last Friday.
The special edition consists of an autographed cover album and postcard. It features a different cover from the regular CD, which is available for purchase from today onwards.
“The physical album is sold here and in Singapore, Brunei and Indonesia.
“The duet with Judika (Kisah Ku Inginkan) is not included in the album for the Indonesian market as the tune can be found in his upcoming album released there,” the songstress said.
Siti, 38, described the album as a gift for her fans. It contains 10 tracks, including Bersandar Cinta, Penghiburku and Segala Perasaan.
Her lyrics expressed gratitude towards those supportive of her career and instrumental to her success.
The first single to be released on digital platform prior to the release of SimetriSiti was Segala Perasaan ,a song written and composed by Indonesian composer and lyricist Ivan Lahardika, and produced by Mujahid Abdul Wahab.
It was released on April 28 and is ranked 22nd in the Top Songs Singles Charts on iTunes Charts Malaysia.
Besides Judika, another artiste featured on the album is award-winning hip-hop star Joe Flizzow for the track Penghiburku. The song was composed and written by Siti.
“After a song was dropped from the tracklist, we had room for one more song. I decided to contribute my own composition to replace it. But, the idea came at the last minute,” Siti said.
She said inspiration for Penghiburku came while she was at a hospital with her family in March.
Although the melody came to her at the hospital, she only managed to pen down the lyrics before getting into the studio to record the song. The lyrics are dedicated to her fans, whom she views as her muse.
Renowned composer Aubrey Suwito is the project director of SimetriSiti. Other known composers, such as Amirah Ali, Opick, Ade Govinda, Mohariz Yaakup and Sid Murshid also contributed their compositions to the album.
