Malaysia and Viet­nam were tied at 1,713 for the team event but the hosts took the gold as they scored higher for ac­cu­racy.

Malaysia chalked 47 against Viet­nam’s 44 for ac­cu­racy.

“My form is nowhere com­pared to where I was at this time last year but it’s cer­tainly im­proved a lot,” said Johnathan yes­ter­day.

“Xuan Vinh is very ex­pe­ri­enced and I am look­ing to take him on in the 10m air pis­tol, which is also my forte,” said Johnathan, who beat the Vietnamese to win the 50m pis­tol event last Satur­day.
