The Wow Car­ni­val booth was di­vided into a few sec­tions — KUALA LUMPUR: The two-day Barisan Na­sional Youth Job Fair, which is part of the Youth Expo 2017 held in con­junc­tion with the Umno 71st an­niver­sary cel­e­bra­tion, con­cluded yes­ter­day evening.

It proved to be a big hit among job­seek­ers at the Bukit Jalil Na­tional Sta­dium.

Hope­ful can­di­dates were seen hold­ing their re­sumes, brav­ing the heat and crowd in hopes of se­cur­ing a place in the com­pany of their choice.

One hope­ful was Mo­hamad Ameer Asyraf, 21, who ar­rived early in the morn­ing with his friends.

“I came early so that I will be able to sub­mit my re­sume to a few com­pa­nies of my in­ter­est.

“There is also a va­ri­ety of jobs be­ing of­fered here, and this gives young grad­u­ates choices,” said Ameer.

He ap­plauded the or­gan­is­ers for the ef­fort and hoped that sim­i­lar ex­pos would be done in other states.

One of the ex­hibitors, Kelly Ser­vices, of­fered more than 300 jobs for the 1Malaysia Train­ing Scheme.

Its cor­po­rate ac­counts lo­cal team leader Mohd Fahmi Md Yu­sof said the re­cruit­ment firm in­ter­viewed 60 can­di­dates for the day alone and hired 14 on the spot.

More than 30 ex­hibitors joined the expo. La­man Wow (Cerekarama, In­spi­rasi and Ton­ton), Banana Land, Ge­lang­gang Kita Juara and Wow on Air.
