Traders dup­ing peo­ple who can’t dis­tin­guish be­tween haru­ma­nis and other man­goes with sim­i­lar fea­tures

SOME traders are sell­ing Thai­land’s tom dam man­goes at RM30 per kg, claim­ing that they are Perlis’s pop­u­lar haru­ma­nis. The price is six times higher than the RM5 per kg sold in Padang Be­sar.

The state Agri­cul­ture De­part­ment is con­cerned that this might tar­nish the good name of Perlis, the only state that pro­duces the ex­otic man­goes.

Its chief, Zulk­i­fli Amin Mat Ju­soh, said traders had been found to dupe cus­tomers
