‘Umno will support anti-corruption movement’

-

KUALA LUMPUR: Umno welcomes the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission’s (MACC) statement that it needed the party’s help in the war against graft.

Umno Supreme Council member Datuk Seri Dr Irmohizam Ibrahim said the party would support the war against corruption.

“Umno will answer and support the efforts against graft.

“The Anti-Corruption Revolution Movement (Gerah) will be upheld by Umno.

“It is not only an effective prevention mechanism, but it can also be the eyes and ears in weeding corruption in other parties,” he said.

Under the newly-launched Gerah, 2,000 MACC officers nationwide will become “agents” of the initiative and are tasked with meeting the people.

By forming such relationships with the public, MACC hopes people will assist the commission in eradicating corruption.
