Yee See told to be pa­tient

OLYMPIAN Chan Peng Soon does not want shut­tler Cheah Yee See to be in a rush to reach the top.

In­stead, the 2016 Rio Games sil­ver medal­list wants his fel­low Pe­nan­gite to take things one step at a time and en­joy the ex­pe­ri­ence.

Peng Soon, who makes up the World No 10 mixed dou­bles with his part­ner Goh Liu Ying, was com­ment­ing on Yee See mak­ing the Sudirman Cup squad this year, much to the sur­prise of ev­ery­body.

Yee See, who has yet to make an im­pact on the in­ter­na­tional stage, was named in the team to fill in for Liu Ying, who is nurs­ing a shoul­der in­jury.

The other mixed dou­bles who will make the trip to Gold Coast, Aus­tralia next week are na­tional No 2 Tan Kian Meng-Lai Pei Jing.

“I think it is un­der­stood that Pei Jing will most likely play in all the ties and we are pre­pared for that.

“How­ever, Yee See should not feel dis­ap­pointed as it will take some time be­fore she reaches our level.

“As of now, fo­cus is on both Kian Meng and I play­ing with Pei Jing. But we are also test­ing out
