50 photographers capture scenes of Bukit Bintang
KUALA LUMPUR: Around 50 photo enthusiasts roamed the streets of Bukit Bintang here to capture scenes in the popular tourist district as part of the NST-Nikon Photowalk contest yesterday.
A collaboration between the New Straits Times and Nikon, which is the prize sponsor, the NST-Nikon Photowalk contest kicked off at 8am and ended at 11am.
It was organised to reflect the growing popularity of street photography among photo enthusiasts, and portray unique scenes of daily Malaysian life.
“Bukit Bintang was selected as it is a hotspot for tourists and locals alike. It is suitable for street photography because photographers can witness the first shop to open and the early risers,” said Nikon Malaysia marketing manager Yeo Su Kwan.
Participants must upload a maximum of three photos to their social media accounts, with the hashtag #nstnikonphotowalk to submit their shots.
Winners will receive Nikon’s brand-new compact camera, binoculars and a special 100-year gift. All participants received a special 100th anniversary T-shirt from Nikon.
Yeo said Nikon hoped to collaborate with NST again on other projects.
