50 pho­tog­ra­phers cap­ture scenes of Bukit Bin­tang

KUALA LUMPUR: Around 50 photo en­thu­si­asts roamed the streets of Bukit Bin­tang here to cap­ture scenes in the pop­u­lar tourist district as part of the NST-Nikon Pho­towalk con­test yes­ter­day.

A col­lab­o­ra­tion be­tween the New Straits Times and Nikon, which is the prize spon­sor, the NST-Nikon Pho­towalk con­test kicked off at 8am and ended at 11am.

It was or­gan­ised to re­flect the grow­ing pop­u­lar­ity of street photography among photo en­thu­si­asts, and por­tray unique scenes of daily Malaysian life.

“Bukit Bin­tang was se­lected as it is a hotspot for tourists and lo­cals alike. It is suit­able for street photography be­cause pho­tog­ra­phers can wit­ness the first shop to open and the early ris­ers,” said Nikon Malaysia mar­ket­ing man­ager Yeo Su Kwan.

Par­tic­i­pants must up­load a max­i­mum of three pho­tos to their so­cial me­dia ac­counts, with the hash­tag #nst­nikon­pho­towalk to sub­mit their shots.

Win­ners will re­ceive Nikon’s brand-new com­pact cam­era, binoc­u­lars and a spe­cial 100-year gift. All par­tic­i­pants re­ceived a spe­cial 100th an­niver­sary T-shirt from Nikon.

Yeo said Nikon hoped to col­lab­o­rate with NST again on other projects.
