KUALA LUMPUR: The parents of a three-month-old baby girl, who is suffering from a heart defect, are appealing for donations to help their daughter undergo patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) ligation surgery that costs about RM30,000.

Law Nuo Ying’s mother, Law Hsin Harn, 29, said her daughter also suffered a minor hole in the heart.

“My daughter has extra blood vessels (patent ductus arteriosus) that need to be closed. She has breathing difficulties and she cries so much that she became weak.”

Nuo Ying’s father, Chong Yoke Sang, 42, only earned about RM4,200 as a salesman which was not enough to pay for the surgery.

Housewife Yong Sing Me, 45, is also appealing for donations to help her daughter, who is also suffering from a heart problem, to undergo surgery that also costs about RM30,000.

Her daughter, On Carie, 16, has pulmonary atresia, a congenital malformation of the valve which fails to develop and obstructs the outflow of blood from the heart to the lungs.
