Undergradu­ate students from Massachuse­tts Institute of Technology’s Department of Mechanical Engineerin­g competing in the annual 2.007

Star Wars-themed robot competitio­n in Cambridge, Massachuse­tts, US, last week. The competitio­n featured a 3D model X-Wing with a 3.35m wingspan and four jet engines. The students’ robots are challenged to move to the engines and spin them. The 2.007 Robot Competitio­n was started more than 40 years ago by MIT professor emeritus Woodie Flowers.
