Penang Yang di-Pertua briefed on NST, BH newsroom operations, given tour of Galeri Prima
PENANG Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Abdul Rahman Abbas yesterday visited the New Straits Times Press (M) Berhad (NSTP) at Balai Berita in Bangsar.
This was his first official visit to NSTP.
He was welcomed by NSTP chairman Tan Sri Ismail Omar, NSTP chief executive officer Datuk Abdul Jalil Hamid and Media Prima Group chief financial officer Mohamad Ariff Ibrahim.
Present were New Straits Times group editor Yushaimi Yahaya, Berita Harian group editor Datuk Mahfar Ali and Harian Metro group editor Datuk Mustapa Omar.
Rahman was taken on a tour of Galeri Prima where a mini exhibition showcasing photographs of him at official functions had been set up. He also viewed various artworks on display there.
Rahman was later given a briefing by Jalil on NSTP’s newsroom operations.
He then spent some time at BH Editorial Department where he met reporters and editors.
Rahman also congratulated BH which will be celebrating its 60th anniversary on July 1.
