SAMSUNG QLED TVS DEBUT IN MALAYSIA
Buyers to get complimentary 12-month iflix subscription with each purchase of 2017 Smart TV
KUALA LUMPUR
ELECTRONICS giant Samsung has taken a leap forward in television viewing with the launch of its new QLED series. The designer TVs, which premiered at a consumer show in Paris in March, bring a new dimension to TV watching.
According to Samsung officials, one no longer just watches TV but experiences it. And the TV is no longer a set that sits in the living room but rather is a part of a lifestyle design.
The QLED series sport a 4K Ultra high-definition (HD) resolution with 3,840 x 2,160 pixels, which is four times more than a regular full HD display.
The HDR (high dynamic range) technology in the QLED TV means it’s able to express HDR 1,500 to 2000, which is equivalent to the brightness of 1,500 to 2,000 candles.
The TV series are sold from RM12,999 to RM99,999 each.
The lineup is made up of three series — Q7, Q8 and Q9 — and they come in either flat or curved panels.
“This next innovation in TV embodies advanced cutting-edge technology, redefining the very meaning of stunning picture quality, seamless smart TV experience and sophisticated design for every modern lifestyle,” said Samsung Malaysia Electronics head of consumer electronics business Jimmy Tan at the launch, here, yesterday.
“As the global TV market leader for 11 consecutive years, we are thrilled to be leading the TV industry into a world of Quantum dot-powered displays featuring the best picture quality with 100 per cent colour volume for superior viewing experience.
“With state-of-the-art style, smart features and picture quality, our 2017 QLED line-up is truly ushering in a new era for television,” Tan added.
In conjunction with the launch, Samsung Malaysia is collaborating with iflix to offer 12 months of complimentary iflix subscription with any purchase of a 2017 Samsung Smart TV.
The promotion ends on June 30.
