Buy­ers to get com­pli­men­tary 12-month iflix sub­scrip­tion with each pur­chase of 2017 Smart TV

ELEC­TRON­ICS gi­ant Sam­sung has taken a leap for­ward in tele­vi­sion view­ing with the launch of its new QLED se­ries. The de­signer TVs, which pre­miered at a con­sumer show in Paris in March, bring a new di­men­sion to TV watch­ing.

Ac­cord­ing to Sam­sung of­fi­cials, one no longer just watches TV but ex­pe­ri­ences it. And the TV is no longer a set that sits in the liv­ing room but rather is a part of a life­style de­sign.

The QLED se­ries sport a 4K Ul­tra high-def­i­ni­tion (HD) res­o­lu­tion with 3,840 x 2,160 pix­els, which is four times more than a reg­u­lar full HD dis­play.

The HDR (high dy­namic range) tech­nol­ogy in the QLED TV means it’s able to ex­press HDR 1,500 to 2000, which is equiv­a­lent to the bright­ness of 1,500 to 2,000 can­dles.

The TV se­ries are sold from RM12,999 to RM99,999 each.

The lineup is made up of three se­ries — Q7, Q8 and Q9 — and they come in ei­ther flat or curved pan­els.

“This next in­no­va­tion in TV em­bod­ies ad­vanced cut­ting-edge tech­nol­ogy, re­defin­ing the very mean­ing of stun­ning pic­ture qual­ity, seam­less smart TV ex­pe­ri­ence and so­phis­ti­cated de­sign for ev­ery mod­ern life­style,” said Sam­sung Malaysia Elec­tron­ics head of con­sumer elec­tron­ics busi­ness Jimmy Tan at the launch, here, yes­ter­day.

“As the global TV mar­ket leader for 11 con­sec­u­tive years, we are thrilled to be lead­ing the TV in­dus­try into a world of Quan­tum dot-pow­ered dis­plays fea­tur­ing the best pic­ture qual­ity with 100 per cent colour vol­ume for su­pe­rior view­ing ex­pe­ri­ence.

“With state-of-the-art style, smart fea­tures and pic­ture qual­ity, our 2017 QLED line-up is truly ush­er­ing in a new era for tele­vi­sion,” Tan added.

In con­junc­tion with the launch, Sam­sung Malaysia is col­lab­o­rat­ing with iflix to of­fer 12 months of com­pli­men­tary iflix sub­scrip­tion with any pur­chase of a 2017 Sam­sung Smart TV.

The pro­mo­tion ends on June 30.
