2 ‘Wannacry’ attacks confirmed

-

PUTRAJAYA: Two confirmed attacks of the Wannacry ransomware have occurred in Malaysia.

Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Datuk Seri Wilfred Madius Tangau said the attacks were on an academic institution and a private company, adding that the attacks had been verified by CyberSecurity Malaysia (CSM), an agency under the ministry.

“The public should report to CSM’s Malaysia Computer Emergency Response Team (myCERT) if they suspect they have received emails containing malware,” he said yesterday.

Victims should report such incidences to myCERT at 1-300 88 2999 or email them to cyber999@cybersecurity.my.
