IN­DEX CLOSES LOWER

SHARE prices closed lower yes­ter­day with the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) 8.48 points weaker at 1,767.17 points from close of 1,775.65.

A dealer said the lower close was in line with its re­gional peers in the face of the grow­ing po­lit­i­cal un­cer­tainty in the United States.

Mar­ket breadth was neg­a­tive, with losers out­pac­ing gain­ers 625 to 317 with 467 coun­ters flat, 351 un­traded and 31 sus­pended.

Vol­ume fell to three bil­lion units val­ued at RM2.64 bil­lion from the 3.45 bil­lion units val­ued at RM2.88 bil­lion pre­vi­ously.

Among blue chips, Petronas gave up four sen for RM19.00, IOI Corp shed five sen to RM4.55 and YTL shed one sen to RM1.51

Of the losers, Aeon Credit fell 56 sen to RM18.82, while Time Dot­com and Al­lianz each de­pre­ci­ated 22 sen to RM8.93 and 12.50 re­spec­tively. Ber­nama
