SHARE prices closed lower yesterday with the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) 8.48 points weaker at 1,767.17 points from close of 1,775.65.

A dealer said the lower close was in line with its regional peers in the face of the growing political uncertaint­y in the United States.

Market breadth was negative, with losers outpacing gainers 625 to 317 with 467 counters flat, 351 untraded and 31 suspended.

Volume fell to three billion units valued at RM2.64 billion from the 3.45 billion units valued at RM2.88 billion previously.

Among blue chips, Petronas gave up four sen for RM19.00, IOI Corp shed five sen to RM4.55 and YTL shed one sen to RM1.51

Of the losers, Aeon Credit fell 56 sen to RM18.82, while Time Dotcom and Allianz each depreciate­d 22 sen to RM8.93 and 12.50 respective­ly. Bernama
