KUALA LUMPUR

PILING and foundation specialist Econpile Holdings Bhd has been awarded a RM48.5 million contract from Pembinaan Kery Sdn Bhd to undertake piling, basement and substructure works for a mixed development in Jalan Conlay, here.

The Pelaburan Hartanah Bhd (PHB) phase 1 mixed development project comprises 33-storey office space on top of an eight-storey podium on the site that housed the office of the Kuala Lumpur Regional Centre for Arbitration. The basement works are slated to be completed in about fifteen months.

With the new contract, Econpile’s current order book now stands at RM1.4 billion which is expected to be recognised over the next two to three years, said the company in a statement.

“This new contract win cements our competitive advantage in undertaking works for high-rise buildings within mixed-development projects, which would enable us to continue increasing our market share despite the challenging property sector,” said Raymond Pang, executive director and group chief executive officer.

He said the award was also a testimony of the client’s confidence in Econpile’s ability to carry out the piling, basement and substructure works within the stipulated timeframe amid various constraints such as location, traffic management, limited work area and others.
