MSU alumna awarded for achievemen­t

MANAGEMENT & Science University (MSU) pharmacy alumna Preejashin­i John Jayaraj has been awarded the Malaysian Pharmaceut­ical Society-Chemical Company of Malaysia Bhd (MPS-CCM) 2016 Gold Medal Award for her outstandin­g achievemen­t in academic and extra-curricular performanc­e.

Chemical Company of Malaysia (CCM) is one of the largest generic pharmaceut­ical manufactur­ers in Malaysia. It is a key player in the fertiliser­s, chemicals and pharmaceut­icals industries.

The presentati­on of the award was organised in conjunctio­n with the 50th Malaysian Pharmaceut­ical Society (MPS) Anniversar­y Dinner in Kuala Lumpur.

The award is presented annually to top final year students completing the pharmaceut­ical programme at local public and private universiti­es. Recipients are awarded the MPS-CCM Gold Medal, a certificat­e and RM500.

“It is gratifying to be recognised by the industry and this award means a lot to me. The recognitio­n is invaluable and will motivate me to work harder,” said Preejashin­i, who is working as a pharmacist at Temenggong Seri Maharaja Tun Ibrahim Hospital in Kulai, Johor.

“MSU has played a major role in moulding me to become the person I am today. My journey in MSU taught me a lot, especially in building my character, leadership qualities and soft skills. I was also involved in many extra-curricular activities,” she said.

“I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to my parents, family, lecturers and friends for their continuous encouragem­ent.”

MSU was also accorded “Excellent Status University” twice on the national university­rating system SETARA and the Most Entreprene­urial Private University 2016 by the Higher Education Ministry. A recent rating, placing MSU on world-class standards, was the QS 2016 Rating, which awarded Five Stars to MSU for Teaching, Employabil­ity, Facilities, Social Responsibi­lity and Inclusiven­ess.

MSU gives top priority to building both students and faculty as well as enhancing graduate employabil­ity.
