STEVEN Mark James came back with a vengeance after two frustrating years to regain the ultimate Champion of the Champions grand title at the Mr. Penang bodybuilding championships at the Penang Golf Club in Bukit Jambul recently.

The Ultimate Fitness Centre bodybuilder was overjoyed with the victory as he had worked hard to regain the ultimate title after watching from the sidelines the past two years.

Steven dedicated his win to his boss Tan Tiang Huat who sponsor the former so that he could pursue his passion.

Prior to clinching the ultimate title, Steven flexed his muscles to defeat three other contestants in the lightheavy weight category.

Elvin Ong Chia Wei of X Gym and San Suria Gym’s Singgara Veloo Sbramaniam finished second and third respectively.

In the champion of the champions contest, Steven had to fend off tough competition from Mr Penang Light weight champion Loganathan Chandran of NL Immotals Gym.

“I started bodybuilding about 10 years ago with the encouragement of my late father, James who sponsored me until his death two years ago which rendered me helpless.

I could not raise enough money to continue until last year when my boss Tan Tiang Huat decided that I should continue with bodybuilding and was willing to sponsor me.

Now, I have repaid his trust in me and am back as the champion.

“This victory has motivated me to aim for the Mt. Malaysia 2017 Champion of the Champions ultimate title,” said Steven.

Steven had won the Mr Penang lightmiddle title from 2010 till 2012 and again in 2014 where he also won the Mr Penang champion of the champions title.

At the national level, the 27year-old bachelor won the Mr Malaysia Junior title in 2010 and 2011 and the Mr Malaysia lightmiddle title in 2012 and 2014.
