KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak yesterday launched Circles of the Future (Kumpulan Masa Depan), a special group for the National Transformation 2050 (TN50).

Najib said the group was vital to analyse and refine youth aspirations voiced during TN50 dialogue sessions.

Circles of the Future consists of five groups.

Each group represents one of the five main themes — Governance, Work and Value Creation, Living and Wellbeing, Lifestyle, and Society.

Each group consists of 20 to 30 circle members of various backgrounds from the public and private sectors.

Najib said this was the first time the bottom-up approach and emphasis on the grassroots were applied in the formulation of the nation’s long term plans.

He said since the TN50 dialogue sessions were launched on Jan 19, more than 1.2 million youth had contributed some 33,000 aspirations.

“Today’s youths are the heirs and main actors of the future development of the nation.

“Those in their 20s and 30s will be Malaysia’s pioneers and leaders in the coming decades.

“As such, in charting the future of the nation, we must listen and understand their aspirations
