Sabah DAP deputy chair­man sus­pended 3 months

DAP has sus­pended Ka­payan as­sem­bly­man Dr Ed­win Bosi for three months, ef­fec­tive yes­ter­day.

The party dis­ci­plinary com­mit­tee signed the sus­pen­sion let­ter fol­low­ing a com­plaint from the state DAP com­mit­tee al­leg­ing that Dr Ed­win had tar­nished the image of the party by mak­ing neg­a­tive state­ments to the me­dia.

Among the state­ments that the state DAP deputy chair­man had made in­cluded threat­en­ing to quit the party if he was not fielded for 14th Gen­eral Elec­tion and ques­tion­ing the cred­i­bil­ity of the party’s state chief, Stephen Wong.

How­ever, Dr Ed­win said he was in­formed about the sus­pen­sion through What­sApp and had yet to re­ceive the let­ter. He was given 14 days to ap­peal the sus­pen­sion.

Sabah DAP has de­scribed its sus­pended deputy chair­man as a per­son who had dam­aged the image of the party.

Wong said Dr Ed­win should not have is­sued pub­lic state­ments on his grouses with the party.

“By right, Dr Ed­win or any mem­ber is not sup­posed to give state­ments to the me­dia.

“Even if he does not like me, Dr Ed­win should have talked about it in­ter­nally,” he said when con­tacted about the sus­pen­sion which took ef­fect on Mon­day.
