REACHING out to a new g e n e r a t i o n o f c o nsumers, HMD Global has introduced its new range of Nokia smartphones comprising the Nokia 6, Nokia 5 and Nokia 3, alongside the iconic Nokia 3310.

Unveiled at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona earlier this year, the three Nokia smartphones feature the latest pure Android operating system, which promises users a safe and clutterfree experience.

Finland-based HMD now operates as the new home of Nokia phones, with exclusive rights to use the Nokia brand for the next 10 years, after securing the exclusive licensing rights for mobile phones late last year.

HMD Global country manager (Malaysia and Myanmar) Vijay Thangavelu said yesterday’s launch marked the beginning of an exciting new era for Nokia smartphones.

“HMD is committed to draw on the hallmarks of the Nokia heritage of quality, simplicity and re- liability for an authentic and differentiating experience to appeal to a new generation of Nokia fans.”

The Nokia 3 packs 16GB of internal storage and 2GB of RAM. Featuring a fully laminated 5- inch display, it is powered by a MediaTek MTK6737 processor.

The smartphone is also equipped with eight-megapixel (MP) back and front cameras.

The Nokia 5 features a slightly bigger 5.2-inch high definition (HD) screen and is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor.

The premium Nokia 6 model boasts a 5.5-inch full HD display and an upgrade of 3GB RAM with 32GB of internal storage.

The rear camera is bumped up to 16MP, but the front camera remains unchanged at 8MP.

Vijay said the Nokia 3310 was a head-turning modern twist on one of the best-selling feature phones of all time.

“Not only it is thin, light and durable, the iconic phone also boasts an incredible 22-hour talk-time and month long standby mode.

“T h e No k i a 3 3 1 0 ’ s f r e s h , colourful and modern design brings it back up to date,” he said, adding that the phone came preloaded with the original mobile gaming hit Snake.

The Nokia 6 and Nokia 5 are available in four distinct colours — Matte Black, Silver, Tempered Blue and Copper — and retails at RM999 and RM799, respectively.

The Nokia 3 comes in Silver White, Matte Black, Tempered Blue, Copper White and retails for RM599.

The Nokia 3 will be available at all Nokia retail stores nationwide from middle of next month, while the Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 will be available from the end of the month. The Nokia 3310 will be available from early next month, with a price tag of RM239.
