GETS THE BOOT

Mootaz Jounaidi and Kelantan forward Abu Bakr Al Mel are among the 10 overseas-based players in Lebanon’s 23-member squad for the match.

Ghaddar’s absence will be welcomed by newly appointed national coach Eduardo Vingada as the Portuguese is desperate for an encouraging result in his first match in charge on June 13.

Radulovic’s side are still, however, heavily favoured to beat the Malaysians for their second straight win in the competition.

Meanwhile, former national under-22 coach Frank Bernhardt, who was sacked in March for unclear reasons, will not hesitate to file a complaint with Fifa against the FA of Malaysia (FAM) over compensation.

The German was neither issued a show cause letter nor a notice over his team’s performance prior to his sacking.

It is learnt that FAM offered Bernhardt three months pay as compensation but he wants to be paid in full for his term until December.

“I will not hesitate to bring a case against FAM to Fifa over the settlement of my wages,” Bernhardt told Astro Arena yesterday.

FAM general-secretary Datuk Hamidin Mohd Amin did not respond to text messages and phone calls from Timesport over the matter.

FAM had advertised the coaching position on several media networks, and received more than 80 applications before Bernhardt was hired in December, 2015.
