net access, 40-inch LCD TVs with cable and local channels, personal electronic safes and more.

The attached bathroom is also a dream. There’s a standalone contemporary bath tub, couple sinks and a separate shower room. Super luxurious!

BREAKFAST WITH A VIEW

Next morning I wake up fresh after a good night’s rest on a comfy plush bed and a warm hot bath.

Before we start exploring Wuhan, we first head for breakfast at Dorsett Cafe on the eight floor. I want to see a bit of Wuhan so we get a seat near the big windows and there we get a panoramic view of the city. The restaurant serves mostly local cuisine with some international cuisine. Looking at the buffet line of the local cuisine, it looks so vibrant and plenty! But, unfortunately, the hotel is not halal-certified so it has not many choices for me.

GREAT LOCATION

Impressed with the view from the restaurant, and excited to see Wuhan, I head out.

Last night when we arrived midnight, the streets were quiet and hollow but this morning, the front is busy with cars, motorcycles, bicycles and pedestrians.

Dorsett Wuhan has a strategic location in the heart of downtown Wuhan. Walking just around the corner, we find out that it is near to the famous pedestrian boulevard of Jianghan Road, a shopping hub. There are many famous brands there including Adidas, Nike and many more.

The buildings are pretty and traditional but well preserved. Some parts are under renovation. You’ll also see some quaint rare views while strolling along this busy boulevard. While shops are on ground level, living quarters are on the upper levels and you might catch a glimpse of their laundry hanging on top of branded shops. Strange but interesting.

The hotel also sits atop the Hong Kong & Macau Centre with a movie theatre and a department store, adjacent to Jiqing Street which is famous for its wide array of food.

On top of that, with the convenient transportation network, travellers can easily get to major Wuhan attractions by metro railway Lines 1 and 2 at Xunlimen Station.
