BERITA Harian expects to attract more than 30,000 visitors to its three-day Fiesta Muslimah BH 2017 (FMBH’17) held at the Shah Alam Convention Centre here.

The fashion fest, which started on Friday, saw a variety of vendors coming together to offer consumers a wide choice of apparel, accessories and beauty products, among others.

BH group editor Datuk Mahfar Ali said they were expecting a high turnout, especially those who are shopping for their Hari Raya Aidilfitri preparations.

“We hope the public will grab this chance to shop for Hari Raya at FMBH’17 as vendors are giving a lot of interesting offers and discounts.

“The first-day turnout was very promising and many continued to throng our fiesta even as we were closing at 10pm last night (Friday).

“We believe this year’s fiesta will get a higher number of visitors than in 2015 and last year.

“That is why we decided to extend Saturday’s opening hours to midnight,” he said, adding that visitors who had yet to visit FMBH’17 could do so today (Sunday) between 10am and 9pm.

Mahfar said the fiesta also saw the participation of many online sellers, who saw it as a platform to market their products physically.

Present was New Straits Times Press (Malaysia) Bhd chief executive officer Datuk Abdul Jalil Hamid, who launched the fiesta.

According to the organiser’s press statement, there were more than 40 booths opened by businesses and celebrities.

Among them were Aali Sahara Boutique, Classique By Maya Collections, Golden Rose Cosmetics, Rosetyara Beauty HQ, Shopperlicious and Zafarisha Boutique and Tailoring, while the celebrities’ booths include those of Mawi, Siti Nordiana, Zara Zya, Liza Kool FM, Zarina Zainuddin, Salina Saibi and Ogy Ahmad Daud.

Meanwhile, FMBH’17 organising chairman Jami’ah Shukri said shoppers can also look forward to find Hari Raya apparel for their families, including colourthemed baju raya and accessories.

She said there were also performances by artistes, including Mawi, Caliph Buskers, Irfan Haris, Syamel and Fina Mentor to entertain visitors.

Among other activities that visitors can look forward to during the event are headscarf tutorials, archery demonstration, exclusive spa treatment and free breast cancer screening.
