THREE MEN, WOMAN CHARGED WITH MURDER
ACOUPLE in their 50s waited patiently at a magistrate’s court here for their 21-yearold daughter, who was charged with three others with murdering a man last month.
Next to them was a large bag containing belongings that they wanted to give their daughter.
“I brought some clothes for her. I hope I am able to give it to her,” said the mother.
The couple, who arrived at 8.30am, had to wait for almost four hours before they were able to see their eldest daughter.
In the dock, Farah Waheda Abu Bakar scanned the packed court room to catch a glimpse of her parents.
Her eyes turned misty when she caught her mother looking at her.
The salesgirl was jointly charged with three men — Mohd Shahrul Ikhwan Shahbani, 22, Hor Yong Wei, 23, and Chee Woie Yong, 29 — with murdering Mohammad Fisol Abu Bakar 31, at Plaza Sentosa, Jalan Langgar here about 4pm on May 28.
They were alleged to have committed the offence with five others still at large.
Donning a shawl over her head, Farah looked at her parents with teary eyes after the charge was read to her.
However, the three men appeared calm when the court interpreter asked them if they understood the charge.
Farah, from Simpang Empat, Hor from Taman Derga Jaya, and Chee from Taman Sri Indah, worked at different shops at the plaza, while Shahrul from Simpang Empat Kangkong, worked elsewhere.
They were alleged to have been part of a mob that had beaten up Fisol over an alleged molest incident at the plaza.
Fisol died two days after the incident without regaining consciousness at the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital.
Deputy public prosecutor Muhammad Rifaie Mohamed Riyaluddin asked for a mention date pending the chemist and
post-mortem reports.
Magistate Noor Farah Hazwani Osman fixed Sept 29 for mention.
Hor was represented by counsel Pyara Singh, while Chee was represented by Lim Wei Yong.
