KUALA LUMPUR: AffinBank Group and Moody’s Analytics recently won The Asian Banker ’s Liquidity Risk Technology Implementation of the Year award.

It was able to improve its operational efficiency, reporting capabilities, risk analysis and achieve its overall objective of improved risk management and business decision-making by implementing Moody’s Analytics’ RiskAuthority and RiskConfidence solutions, said AffinBank yesterday.

Affin Bank Bhd chief executive officer Kamarul Ariffin Mohd Jamil said the implementation had further strengthened the group’s risk management capabilities, in line with its recently-launched Affinity strategic transformation programme.

“With the ability to perform more frequent and more granular data analytics, we are in a better position to monitor and manage our risk exposures in accordance with our risk appetite, and to institute early corrective action when required.

“The risk management solutions cover our Asset Liability Management and regulatory reporting needs and incorporate a large exposure module to enhance control of risk across our business entities,” he said.

The risk management solutions support AffinBank’s business growth by enabling a fully automated end-to-end submission process, from data loading all the way to generating reports.

Managing director at Moody’s Analytics Noah Berliner said the award reflected its commitment to helping organisations meet their regulatory and operational challenges.

“Our solutions enabled Affin Bank to put in place a holistic risk-management framework to drive its business forward,” he added.

The award was received during The Asian Banker Risk Management Awards and Risk Technology Implementation Awards 2017 in Singapore. Syahira Azizi
