MAHB LAUNCHES ‘KUL DAD’ CAMPAIGN

Airport operator and Lamborghini brings cheer to 20 children as part of Fathers Day celebration

- KUALA LUMPUR

IN the spirit of the Ramadan season and in celebration of Father’s Day, Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) jointly launched the “KUL Dad” campaign with luxury carmaker Lamborghini at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) in Sepang.

Ten Lamborghini owners “adopted” two children each from Pusat Jagaan Baitus Sakinah Wal Mahabbah for half a day of fun and adventure, including a joyride in a Lamborghini and a shopping spree at KLIA, sponsored by MAHB.

The “KUL” (a play on the word cool) Dad campaign is part of MAHB’s 25th anniversary celebrations, with various other promotional activities planned throughout the year.

“We wanted to celebrate Fathers Day by providing the kids with an unforgettable treat with their ‘adopted’ fathers,” said MAHB senior general manager of Commercial Services, Mohammad Nazli Abdul Aziz, in a statement.

The “KUL Dad” campaign aims to reinforce MAHB’s mission to create joyful experiences for all KLIA users and the community surrounding the airport.

“Lamborghini is an aspirational dream car and the joyride will definitely be an exhilarating experience for the kids,” said Nazli.

The “KUL Dad” campaign, which runs until July 15, is also being held in partnership with 37 retail outlets at KLIA and 25 retail outlets at Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2, with special discounts on offer.

MAHB said 25 lucky winners would also get to enjoy the Lamborghini experience at Sepang International Circuit with every RM500 spent in a maximum of two combined same-day receipts at participating outlets at both terminals.

Passengers are required to snap a photo of the receipts and send them along with their full name and passport number to a WhatsApp contact number.

MAHB will announce the winners and details of the Lamborghini ride in August.

KLIA and klia2 passenger traffic grew 14.4 per cent to 24 million from January to May, compared with the same period last year.

International traffic registered a 15.4 per cent growth and domestic traffic posted a 12.1 per cent expansion.

Its airport network, which includes Turkey’s Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen International Airport, registered its highest number of passenger movements to date at 122.9 million in the last 12 months.

“Our robust growth can be attributed to local tourism, a recovering economy and affordable holidays within the country,” said Nazli.
