The clothes of life

IT seems blogger Raja Nadia Sabrina Raja Ahmad Aminullah is thriving as a fashion designer since the inception of her label aere in 2014. Her womenswear label has grown from strength to strength and if you care to look at the comments on social media, its Cerus pants — wide-legged with a sharp structure but sadly, no longer produced — is the one to wear for an impressive outfit of the day.

Her clothes, anchored on versatility and comfort, have also seen much improvement since its early days. Tops with rounded hemlines have become staples in its collections. They drape nicely, and instantly make any ensemble look chic.

And while we’re still in the month of Syawal with Hari Raya open houses going on in full swing, the brand’s Life collection, to usher the celebration, presents a line of clothes for the whole family.

Continuing the label’s unorthodox move to release separate pieces for Eid, as opposed to two-piece ensembles, the Life collection features designs that are perfect for the celebration and which can be worn throughout the year.

MIX AND MATCH

Raja Nadia Sabrina is an advocate of mixing and matching. “I would rather create my own look than wearing something as a set. When I try to get a little more creative by creating different looks from pairing items in the wardrobe and pulling off a cohesive look, I feel personal satisfaction,” she says.

The Life collection’s play with textured fabrics, lace, sequins, drapes, ruffles and pleats in assorted colours is new and exciting for fans.

The extension of the brand’s aereMen line is also a direct sentiment to its growth, while the aereKids line features set pieces for boys and girls, complementing the adult pieces.

A lawyer by qualification, Raja Nadia Sabrina’s inspiration for her collections is always philosophical, stemming from her experiences in life. And it’s no different for the Life line.

“Like splashes of water, the waterfalls and the waves of the sea, life is filled with ups and downs, high and lows and everything in-between. Sometimes, life can be really simple but at times it can get really complicated.

“Whatever it is, through the challenges and trials that life brings, there’s beauty in it if we just embrace it positively, knowing that everything has been written and is meant to be.”

The Life collection features 54 versatile, multi-functional and some nursing-friendly tops, dresses, set pieces, skirts, and pants in 190 colour variations of and sizes ranging from XS-XXL.

aereMen features 10 shirts and pants in over 24 colour variations while aereKids features five set pieces in 15 colour variations for ages 1 to 8. Prices range from RM139.90 to RM279.90. The collection is available online at www.fashionvalet.com/aere and its stores, as well as Modvier store and ShoesShoesShoes boutiques.
