Datuk Jim Khor, HLYM’s managing director, said: “The NVX comes with a 5.8-inch digital colour LCD meter that displays the tachometer, speedomete­r, VVA indicator and odometer. Above that, its premium attributes include a smart key system and a start/stop system for better fuel efficiency.”

The smart key feature of the NVX allows keyless ignition and a locator device. It is uniquely designed with a keycode that may be utilised in case of damage or loss of the smart key.

Other features include 14-inch rims with wide tubeless tyres, 25 litres of storage space under the seat, twin LED headlights and an LED taillight and brake light.

The NVX is a certified energy-efficient vehicle with a 2.2 litres per kilo- metre fuel consumptio­n rating. With a fuel capacity of 4.6 litres, the NVX will cruise highways effortless­ly.

The front suspension is a telescopic fork and the rear features twin shock absorbers. The front disc brake is paired with a drum on the rear. A notable feature is the addition of anti-lock braking system as standard. The NVX weighs a scant 118kg despite being a fair bit larger than the NMax.

Being one of the most anticipate­d models launched by HLYM, the NVX is sure to be a hot seller. The NVX retails for RM10,500 and HLYM initially projects to sell at least 600 units per month although HLYM will easily be able to produce more if demand warrants it.

The NVX is available in three colours — red, black or blue. The first few units are projected to arrive at Yamaha dealership­s nationwide by the end of this month.
