Netizens laud RapidKL’s etiquette posts

-

KUALA LUMPUR: Public transport provider RapidKL was commended for highlighting badmannered rail commuters on social media to raise awareness of etiquette.

In a series of Facebook posts last week, the company reminded commuters of dos and don’ts when taking the train.

In one of the posts, a man could be seen using the handrails in the train as pull-up bars.

“These handlebars may be tempting for you to do chin-ups but bro, keep the gym workout at the gym,” RapidKL said.

In another post, a passenger was seen occupying two seats with his legs stretched out.

“Please refrain from putting your legs up the seat for the comfort of all. Be an exemplary commuter who follows all the rules... You are our hero.”

RapidKL also reminded passengers not to eat and drink on the trains.

A post on Wednesday showed a passenger eating ice cream. Another example given was a group of teenage girls drinking from a plastic cup on the train.

“One act of kindness can change your day. Everybody wants clean public transport, that’s why we don’t allow drinking and eating onboard.”

It also advised passengers not to place plastic bags on the seats.

“To our beloved passengers (if you are still unaware), plastic bags do not need a special seat on the train.

“Do give the unoccupied seats to those who need them.”

Its latest post yesterday had a photo of leftover bread stuck between the seats. “We know what you did last Raya, but honey, our seats are warriors. They don’t need any food/roti to survive,” RapidKL said.

Netizens praised RapidKL for highlighting the poor etiquette and educating commuters.

Facebook user Nur Masyita Atiqah said: “Great, RapidKL! Please share more pictures to educate passengers.”
