RBS posts £939m pre-tax profit in H1
Royal Bank of Scotland yesterday said it posted a profit in the first half of the year following a £2 billion (RM11.33 billion) loss in the same period last year. RBS, which has not made an annual profit since 2007, made a £939 million pre-tax profit in the six months to end-June. It was rescued in a £45.5 billion taxpayer bailout at the height of the financial crisis. RBS said it was also in discussions with the Dutch central bank to use its licence to trade there following Britain’s exit from the European Union.
