‘Har­ian Metro’ still top news web­site in nation

KUALA LUMPUR: The Har­ian Metro (HM) web­site main­tains its top po­si­tion in Malaysia in the sec­ond quar­ter of this year un­der the news and in­for­ma­tion cat­e­gories, based on statis­tics re­leased by ComS­core Inc.

Ac­cord­ing to the re­port, the HM site, www.hmetro. com.my, recorded 12.23 mil­lion unique vis­i­tors (UVs) from April to June; 4.16 mil­lion UVs in April, 4.12 mil­lion UVs in May and 3.94 mil­lion UVs in June.

In April, the site, bet­ter known as myMetro, sur­passed its near­est ri­val by 362,000 UVs.

In May, the fig­ure was 585,000, and in June, 756,000.

Th­ese statis­tics in­clude those who vis­ited web­sites us­ing com­put­ers, smart­phones and tablets.

In the first quar­ter of this year, the web­site recorded 9.88 mil­lion UVs, out­per­form­ing its com­peti­tors by 421,000.

The HM video arm, MetroTV, which has more than 104,000 sub­scrip­tions on YouTube, recorded more than 130.6 mil­lion views un­til yes­ter­day.

On so­cial me­dia, Face­book (FB) myMetro has recorded more than 4.3 mil­lion “likes”, while HM’s Twit­ter ac­count is fol­lowed by more than 776,000 users.
