Prisoner gets six months’ jail for cursing

KUALA LUMPUR: After cursing and threatenin­g a magistrate, a prisoner serving time for injuring an individual was slapped an additional six months’ jail by the Magistrate’s Court here yesterday,

Magistrate Mahyudin Mohmad Som imposed the punishment on S. Thaneskuma­r, 23, after the accused pleaded guilty.

Thaneskuma­r was charged with intimidati­ng Magistrate Adira Adnan, 33, saying that he would kill the latter and mouthed foul language during proceeding­s at Magistrate’s Court 1, Jalan Duta here between 2pm and 3 pm on May 15.

The court ordered the jail sentence to run from the date of his arrest on July 7. Bernama
