BAC signs US$134m deal with LUKOIL

KUALA LUMPUR: Bumi Ar­mada Bhd unit, Bumi Ar­mada Caspian L LC( BAC),h as­signed a sup­ple­men­tary agree­ment with L UK OIL Nizh­nevolzh sknef tL LC( L UK OIL) worth US$134 mil­lion (RM575.6 mil­lion) for ad­di­tional en­gi­neer­ing, pro­cure­ment, con­struc­tion and in­stal­la­tions (EPCI).

In a fil­ing to Bursa Malaysia yes­ter­day, the off­shore oilfield ser­vices provider said the added scope would in­volve BAC’s ma­rine spread lay­ing sub­sea pipelines and un­der­tak­ing post­trench­ing and back-fill­ing works on sec­tions of the Fi­lanovsky field in the Rus­sian sec­tor of the Caspian Sea.

“The ad­di­tional scope un­der the con­tract in­volves the EPCI of about 20km of pipelines in the Fi­lanovsky field, in­volv­ing the Ar­mada In­staller and Ar­mada Con­struc­tor ves­sels,” it said.

Bumi Ar­mada ex­ec­u­tive di­rec­tor and chief ex­ec­u­tive of­fi­cer Leon Har­land said the con­tract high­lighted its strong work­ing re­la­tion­ship with its client.
