PPR homes for M40 group

-

SHAH ALAM: The Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government Ministry is planning to build homes under the People’s Housing Project (PPR) that cater to the middle-income group (M40).

Its minister, Tan Sri Noh Omar, said PPR had only targeted the low-income group (B40), however, the government wished to extend the project to the M40 to help the latter bracket own affordable homes.

“The working paper for this proposal (PPR for M40) has been prepared and will be submitted to the government the soonest possible.”

He said the government had subsidised more than RM100,000 for each PPR home in the B40 group.

Owners pay only RM35,000.

“As for the M40 group, the government may not give the same subsidy as B40’s PPR. It might consider giving discounts between 10 and 20 per cent for properties worth RM700,000.” Bernama

The working paper... will be submitted to the government.
