KUALA LUMPUR: MCA has said that seat-swapping among Barisan Nasional (BN) component parties is a possibility in the coming 14th General Election (GE14).

Its president, Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai, said yesterday there were discussions on switching of seats.

“We are ready to take on the upcoming general election and have started preparations.

“(But) we will not be able to disclose anything yet (on the swapping of seats), as discussions are running at BN level.

“Until the election date is announced, or before we reach a consensus between component parties, we will not announce the changes in seats.”

Liow, who is also Bentong member of parliament, added that the party was open to discussion, especially on matters relating to seat allocation.

“Whether it is swapping, adding, reducing or any general election-related matter, we are ready to discuss it with component parties.”
