3 new Colorados hit Malaysian roads

- Arman Ahmad

Quest Sdn Bhd, the sole distributor and importer of Chevrolet vehicles in Malaysia, introduced three new variants of the Colorado truck earlier this week.

They are the Colorado X, X-Urban and X-ADV.

“It has been a while since we launched the Colorado late last year and we would like to add more options for the consumers. These new variants show just how sleek or rugged the standard Colorado can be,” said Farid Rosli, vice president 1, Naza Quest Sdn Bhd.

The X editions are inspired by a concept Colorado truck that was shown at recent Chevrolet launches and roadshows.

Naza toned down this concept truck and produced three variants for the market.

According to Naza, the Colorado-X is for customers who “just want to spice up things a bit”, while the X-Urban is geared for urbanites and the X-ADV for thrill seekers.

The Colorado X, which is the base X-edition model, will have black emblems replacing the golden Chevrolet bowties on the front and rear tailgate, X-branded hood and bed liner decals, black hood decal, black chrome fuel cover, black tailgate decal with enlarged ‘COLORADO’ lettering and black coated rims. Its price starts at RM113,248.

The Colorado X-Urban, which retails from RM131,798, adds 20-inch black rims with rim cone, HT tyres and black fender flares.

The Colorado X-ADV, has a new sport bar, 16-inch black fuel rims with rim cone, mud terrain tyres, black side steps, black fender flares, black paint on the front grille, rear bumper, side mirrors and door handles, and an Old Man Emu 4x4 suspensions system on top of the Colorado-X base. This model retails from RM145,578.

All of the three new variants are equipped with upgraded 2.5L Duramax diesel engines with Variable Geometry Turbocharger (VGT). The engine produces 180hp at 3,600rpm and 440Nm of torque at 2,000rpm and is Euro-4 fuel compliant.
