A Premira Sdn Bhd, the official distributor of Vespa scooters, has launched two new scooters in conjunction with the NAZA Merdeka Autofair, which ends today.

A new Vespa S125 model was introduced, equipped with the Italian Green Experience Technology (I-GET) engine.

The engine is a single-cylinder four-stroke 125cc air cooled engine with electronic injection and threevalve timing.

It produces 10.2hp at 7,600rpm and 10.2Nm of torque at 6,000rpm.

Naza Premira said each detail, from the exhaust to the internal design of the gearbox cover, had been designed to make the ride smoother, quieter and more comfortable.

The injection system has also been optimised for efficiency.

The electronic control unit (ECU) is now equipped with a barometric sensor for optimum combustion in any condition and altitude.

Naza Premira said fuel consumption had been reduced to a minimum, achieving 60km/litre at 50kph.

With its seven-litre tank, the Vespa can get 420km on a full tank of fuel. It is priced at RM12,603 after Goods and Services Tax (GST), but exclusive of insurance and road tax.

The company also launched the Piaggio Medley S150 ABS.

Equipped with a 16-inch front wheel and 14-inch rear one- and twochannel anti-brake locking system as standard, the Medley boasts stability and safety in a stylish package.

The new Piaggio is priced at RM18,327 after GST but excluding insurance and road tax.
