-

AS the hoopla surrounding the karaoke drama involving actress Afifah Nasir, 24, and Singaporean singer-actor Aliff Aziz, 26, abated, Afifah issued an apology to her family on her Instagram account.

It was accompanied by a photo of her whole family, including her beau, with a caption: “To my family, I know the pain I have caused to all. It was never my intention to hurt you.

“Segala kata cacian yang dilemparkan (all the criticism I received), I accept it as it is for the mistake I have done, regardless if my intentions were pure or not.

“Masing masing ada hak untuk bersuara dan judge. Biarlah apa orang nak kata. Yang penting, Allah tahu niat kita macam mana. (People have the right to voice out their opinions and judge).

“Let them say what they want, as long as Allah knows our intentions).

Surprisingly, Afifah reactivated her comment section.

Fans were quick to leave their messages, but most showed support for her, even encouraging her .

Some also advised her to learn from the incident, and to ensure she did not repeat the same mistake.

Instagram user @lullaby.pp said: “God bless you and your family. “The past is past. At least you’ve already apologised and that’s enough. God will always give you strength to face a lot of your situations.”

Meanwhile @sophiawijnen said: “Silence is golden and time will reveal the truth sooner or later.

“We are all responsible for our own decisions and actions. Lessons learned, then we move on. To err is human, to forgive is divine. Wisdom and common sense are hardly seen in most people nowadays.”
