Naza Kia eyes 15,000 units of sales by 2020

JOHOR BARU: Naza Kia Malaysia Sdn Bhd, the official distributo­r of Korean made Kia vehicles in Malaysia, has targeted to triple its sales in 2020 driven by its comprehens­ive business strategy.

“With our extensive business strategy, we planned to increase the sales target to 15,000 units by 2020 from this year's 5,100 units sales target,” said its group chief operating officer Datuk Samson Anand George at a press conference after a media round table session here.

Samson added that there will be 15 models set to be introduced from now until 2020.

“Out of the 15 models, one of it will be electrical or hybrid model,” said Samson.

The company has allocated up to RM15 million worth of investment for its new dealership outlets and upgrades this year.

“There will be two new outlets and three outlet upgrades for this year and each will cost from RM2.5 million to RM3 million per outlet,” he said.

Samson said there will be a larger investment for the company’s capital expenditur­e (capex) next year.

“Next year, there will be a huge chunk of investment for capex. We will be investing RM4 million in the customer relation management (CRM) strategy.

“There will be some allocation­s for the Kia Konfedence programme. There is also an investment in the new completely knocked-down projects which estimated not more than RM40 million,” said Samson, adding that there will be three new models launches next year.

“Currently we have car models in most of the passenger car segments except for the A-Segment.

“Early next year we will be introducin­g the Picanto in the ASegment and continue focusing on the sales for the B and C-segments,” said Samson.
