KHAZANAH TO HOLD ‘HARI HASANAH’
Initiative will foster unity and patriotism through acts of kindness
KHAZANAH Nasional Bhd will organise a “Hari Hasanah” on Sept 3 to promote and foster unity and patriotism among Malaysians in line with the Negaraku campaign.
Organised with Yayasan Hasanah, Yayasan Khazanah, Khazanah Research Institute and Think City, Hari Hasanah would be a day for partners and staff to do good deeds through collectively planned initiatives.
“Hasanah means ‘goodness’ in Arabic. As the saying goes, charity begins at home, so we start with ourselves.
“We intend to hold Hari Hasanah annually between National Day and Malaysia Day.
“We welcome you to do your own act of kindness on Hari Hasanah,” read the statement on the event’s website, HariHasanah.com.my.
The initiatives that Khazanah will hold will focus on education, community, environment, knowledge, as well as arts, heritage and culture.
Activities include gotong-royong, workshops, free haircuts, cooking demonstrations and donation drives.
Activities will be held at selected venues across the country in partnership with various organisations, including schools, nongovernmental organisations and government agencies and foundations.
“There will be a six-episode Anak Merdeka miniseries, chronicling the lives of three childhood friends across the six decades of our nationhood.
“We will also showcase Grit & Grace, a monochrome photo collection capturing the beauty of Malaysia and its people via a photobook and public exhibitions,” the statement said.
Khazanah said it hoped Hari Hasanah would become a movement where Malaysians come together and do good for others, and help foster togetherness and promote unity in a multi-cultural society.
It encouraged the public to do their part by carrying out their own Hari Hasanah initiatives, and to share their stories on social media with the hashtags #HariHasanah, #DoGoodTogether and #BerbudiBersama.
